Camp is important to provide some of the same programming for girls to aid their independence and self sufficiency that I had while growing up.  Camp made me the person I am today and I want other girls to experience that place, as well as the feelings of fellowship in this world of today.

Tradition of Tajar

Traditions are an important part of camp. Traditions at camp bind campers and staff of all generations into a family.  Traditions within a family are what make the most important memories.  Traditions at camp are no different. Generations of women influence and mentor MMR camps, and traditions are ties that bind them all together. The land, the season, the shared experiences, the phrases, the nicknames, the songs, and the rituals brings all generations into one family at MMR.

Camp was always a place that I could be myself. I also learned a lot about leadership and independence.  Core Camp is important because it is a way for us to pass our love of camp, traditions and skills to girls whom many never have been to camp. It is also a way to build fellowship of Girl Scouting.

(Verse from Robbi's MMR Song)
We will hike on up to Vista in the cool of early morn'
We will see the Aspen quaking and be glad that we were born
We will walk and watch and linger through the number of our years
And we will leave with Meadow Mountain through the laughter and the tears.
