Session B: July 19 - 21 (2 nights)

Bring your troop for a mid week session at Meadow Mountain Ranch! Core Camp 1 is for younger girls and troops with little or no camp experience. Our older girls have planned an exciting time for you called The Untold Tales of MMR Camp. Do you know all the secrets of MMR?  Have you heard the old legends?  There may even be some camp tales along the way. This program is planned completely by girls, for girls. Explore what Meadow Mountain Ranch offers, including nature, hiking, crafts, songs, games, camp skills, campfires and so much more. We provide experienced program volunteers. All groups will experience a cook out - other meals will be served in the lodge. During the day, girls are divided into Program level Patrols (groups of girls from different troops) to do activities and help with Kapers (camp chores).  Detailed information will be provided upon registration.  This is a girl event with limited adult capacity: only one adult over the ratio for camping will be allowed. Each troop must have one adult who is First Aid/CPR Certified and has taken Overnight Trips training.
Girls:  $125               Adults: $110               PA's:  $100

Programming

At MMR Core Camp, all campers will have the opportunity to experience activities in nature, outdoor skills, hiking, STEM, and art 'n crafts.  Every camper takes a different moment away from the activities to empower them to learn more away from camp.  There are options for an early morning hike as well as some night activities as well.  In your schedule, there is some built in troop time as well.  Campers will earn a badge during their stay at MMR along with checking off requirements for a few other badges too.

What to Expect

Whether you are a first time camper or experienced camper, this Core Camp will take you back to basics. Troops will share Tabins with other troops in a unit during their stay.  When it comes to program time, troops will be split into patrols by program levels. Different patrols will allow the girls to meet other Girl Scouts as well.  There will be a leader and camper meeting on Afternoon One to introduce everyone to what to expect during their time at camp.

Food

Our kitchen is serviced by a group of volunteers and older girls. Over the past few summers, the young ladies have provided a great menu for girls of all ages.  One meal will be cooked over the fire and the rest of the meals will be served in the dining hall!   There are options as well to adapt menus for allergy or dietary restrictions. In order to best prepare for the meals at camp, please take time to fill out the form for any allergies or dietary restrictions in your troop by June 1, 2022.

Campfire

Campfires are a special gathering place at camp.  Everyone will be welcomed around the campfire on Friday night where we will sing songs and be introduced to Tajar. During your stay, you will cook over the fire on Saturday night in your unit as well. Come prepared to sing some of your favorite songs and learn a few new ones along the way as well.
